According to legend, in the early 1980's a woman was driving home with her infant child when she lost control of the vehicle on an icy bridge. The vehicle broke through the guardrails and fell about 30 feet to the frozen creek below. The mother survived the crash, but the infant was thrown from the vehicle. The mother spent about a half- hour walking up and down the creek looking for her baby. She died of hypothermia, never finding the child. The baby was later found by emergency personnel some distance down stream from the crash site. It is now believed that if you go to the bridge at night and honk your horn, you can hear a baby cry. Occasionally, the ghostly form of the mother will appear, pleading for help in finding her baby. I.C.P.R. has made a number of visits to this location, but has yet to confirm the existence of any paranormal activity. We will make one more trip to the crash site before abandoning the case. We feel strongly at this point that the story is nothing more than an urban legend. The sound of the baby crying is likely a raccoon nesting under the bridge, disturbed by the honking cars.
